Peace of Mind: A Concrete Reality -- Author Lynn Reidl #SOBCon2010
Sometimes I imagine a world where we couldn’t understand language, where symbols blurred, where judgments didn’t matter, where similar emotional patterns did not control our lives. What would life look like if we lost control of our left hemisphere of the brain? A more right brained system of living. Would we have more bliss because our memories would not remind us of our stress, bad relationships, business problems, or family issues. Would we feel the detachment from the world and feel at one with all energy. Would we accept ourselves just for being, not needing to prove our worth? Where peace of mind and a compassionate heart was felt for self and others?
Well I research design solutions, belong to online communities, and continue to search for concrete ways to bring my ‘virtual’ world desires into the concrete reality of my life. So many teachers come to mind that have effected my life in a positive way. Just to name a few: Lilou Mace & 100 Reality Challenge, The Wright Learning Institute, Carol Miller & Positive Focus community.... all have leaders and participants that have effected my life… virtually and in my concrete worlds.
To fully enjoy any situation or relationship, I’ve had to open my mind and heart. I have to engage in conversation, in their life, in their challenges, and I must do this with truth…. following my present moment desire. I have found when I do this, I get response. If I engage without commitment, I don’t see the same fruitful results.
It matters not if this relationship begins virtually or not…. without the engagement, it would be pointless. So my opinion of where virtual meets the concrete, well, it’s about how much I interact, care, create, co-create, and collaborate with my virtual world relationships.
To take things a step further and create a new system, where I feel the reality or concrete evidence…. I would have to meet with my friends off line & in person. I believe it was said by another: You won’t always remember what a person said or did to you, but you will remember how they made you feel. In knowing this, I prefer to create a concrete memory & relationship through energy perception of sorts and like to share my energy as well. I want to have a conversation and see someone’s body language and feel the energy behind their story.
I like to think of the brain as a computer with particular programs that play over and over. I also think of the brain as the “virtual” or the creation aspect of reality and the action steps create the concrete. (first there was thought, then thought form, then manifestation) So weather it is brain or computer, relationship online or off-line, design in thought form or on paper, the main goal for me is to create memories, experiences, and results full of bliss, engagement, purpose. My commitment to that world is the key to making it concrete.
My concrete mantra; I’m ever seeking peace of mind and a joyful soul.
